Volunteers are a resource with great potential in any organisation, including our church, if their contribution is managed and understood in ways which bring benefits to all concerned.
These individuals who provide unpaid assistance in areas of church administration represent over 95% of non-paid help in our local assemblies. They help with everything from church office operations to membership growth and development (pastoral care) to education and music ministry, to housekeeping and non-member outreach. Clearly, volunteers are vital to the local church.
The church, in showing its gratitude, will henceforth hold an annual "volunteer appreciation event" to honour those whose volunteering have empowered and impacted others in our congregations and enriched the body of Christ. We recognise that voluntary assistance is an ongoing confirmation of support for the church's vision and leadership.

Compassion, service, empathy, understanding...combine these words with, talent, skill, energy...and you have a composite picture of the heart and soul of our volunteer of honor. These elements tell us much more than a head shot or group photo ever could of Deacon Agyapa Boateng.
In service to the body of Christ, we recognize Deacon Agyapa Boateng of Ebenezer Assembly, a man whose concern for others and his tenacity to turn his concern into proactive volunteerism has inspired others to contribute their knowledge, skills and time to enrich mission work through volunteerism.
From giving up his time to aid in construction initiatives, he's shown time and again his unwavering commitment to serving others. He devotes entire Saturdays to providing countless hours of invaluable service at the church premises, doing everything from cleaning clogged drain pipes to dislodging debris on the rooftops.
We take the opportunity to acknowledge this individual, who, with other distinguished volunteers, generally toils in obscurity. It is a wonderful privilege to honor and congratulate his humanitarian effort.
Although he does not volunteer his time and resources to be recognized, we believe it is very important to mark his accomplishments as well as the excellent model he's set for others to emulate.
The eighteenth century French philosopher Voltaire (1694-1778) rightly underscored this fact when he wrote "Appreciation is a wonderful thing. It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well".
Thank you, Deacon Boateng, for all that you do. |

Known affectionately as Nana Yaa, she is a deaconess of the church, dedicated with her husband, in service to the Church. It is through her initiative that the first group of choir members was created in the Church. Through the efforts of resourceful individuals like the à capella group: Sammy, Charles and George, she gave the Paradize Praize Choir a new sense of direction.
New music and several rehearsal sessions followed with Mrs Akpotosu using her own resources to prop the personnel. She designed and made clothes for the choir matched them with accessories to demonstrate professionalism in their outloo.
She believes it's our call to worship and praise the Lord all the days of our lives from the depths of our souls. Like a love that never grows old, our passion and love for Him should continue to burn outwardly bold and strong and one of the ways is to minister our love through music.
The sacrifices made by this choir inspired all members and soon choirs began springing up in all the churches across the nation.
We pay homage to this lady whose determination, generosity and commitment birthed the first generation of the Paradize Praize Choir, which remains filled with disciplined, excellent, humble, morally upright , and brilliant young individuals serving in our local congregations.
Thanks to this initial project, lives and relationships with Christ have been positively affected through the music ministry.
This is the Paradize Praize Choir:
